Rollin, rollin, rollin - The Sequel
Ethan officially rolled over today!! Both his father and I witnessed it! He went from his back to his tummy and then, after a pause for recognition of his accomplishment, kept going from his tummy to his back! And because he needed to be different - he rolled to the right (Mason favors rolling to the left - I can just see them rolling in opposite directions across the living room in the near future). He didn't repeat it - but we could tell he was doing it on purpose when he did it - he beamed with pride when he got to his tummy and looked up and saw how excited we were. Then he kept going to his back and thought it was absolutely hilarious. He actually thought everything was hilarious today - he was full of giggles about everything all day! Actually, Mason was too - I swear we didn't put anything funny in their bottles!

5 Months Old!
Today we turned 5 months old!
Mason
Mason is rolling all over the place - from one end of the room to the other. He is also most definitely hunting rabbits in his sleep. He starts the evening on his back in one, nice, comfy, safe spot in his crib and once or twice a night (though less often now) he will get himself into quite the predicament which requires daddy to go in and help him because he is on his tummy and has gotten his head jammed into one corner of the crib or another. He is also scooting across the floor. He can no longer be trusted! If you leave the room for a minute - you might be surprised to find that he is not where you left him! He is also making great progress on being able to sit up unassisted, but has a ways to go as this is something we just started to work on fairly recently. Mason has discovered the joy of blowing raspberries with his spit and is making the most of this new sound. He also has discovered that he has quite the set of lungs and he is not afraid to use them. If food is not presented in a timely manner, he will LET YOU KNOW!!!
Ethan
Ethan apparently thinks rolling is just a waste of time and is trying to scoot across the floor on his tummy instead. He is also sticking his butt in the air when he does this in an attempt to actually crawl, though that will be a while (I hope anyway!). He is also working on his unassisted sitting. He's an overachiever and doing sit-ups in his bouncy seat to try to strengthen his abdominals. I am told he rolled over 2 times, though this was witnessed by other family members. And I am fairly certain both times were just an attempt to get a better view of the television. He is our TV junkie. If it's colorful and has music - he's all about it. No TV for children under 2? Yeah right. Tell him that. He'll get started on the signs to protest. His favorites: Backyardigans and Wonder Pets. But we give him a break on this because poor guy has to wait 30 minutes every morning and every evening before he's allowed to eat because of his medicine. So while he is starving he gets to watch some TV. We think it's only fair. He has also discovered the joy of blowing raspberries. So much so, in fact, that he went to bed a full hour later last night...because he was blowing raspberries...for an hour straight. Oh yeah, it's that fun.
Big Bro, Little Bro

I got your back (...literally)

Hey, you! Where'd you take my brother?!

Pretty soon I'll figure out how the recliner works - just need that right arm to be a little bit longer

Whoa! Where'd the big guy go?!

Can you tell, I just love the camera?

Visit from Auntie Bethany!
We had a great visit with Auntie Bethany - she is a ton of fun :) And how cool is it to have an auntie who is a Physical Therapist! Both boys got in some work on their sitting up. We've got a ways to go, but they are definitely on the right track - it won't be all that long now!

Labor Day Photos
We hit JCP today and got some belated 4 month pics of the boys - below are the ones we ended up ordering. It was a rough go because of timing (they were running behind and that ran into Ethan's mealtime and then into Mason's naptime, but they managed to get a few cute ones before the "you know what" hit the fan!

We have feet?!
Super Seat!
It's a bumbo? It's an exersaucer? It's a booster seat? All in one?!! Thank you Jess and Rich for these awesome all-in-one gadgets. We are loving them!!
Hard at play!

Yes mother?

Mason trying to figure out the mechanics behind the spinny thing

Ethan is an equal fan of the spinny thing - whatever makes the most noise is always the most popular!
