Dallas playscape

We went to Dallas for an overnight visit to celebrate a friend's 1st birthday and found this great playscape while we were there.

Day at the Zoo

There is a zoo in Waco which we visited for the first time today. Not too huge, but definitely not too small. Lots of big animals including some of the boys' favorites: elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and tigers.

We were too busy today to take a ton of pictures but we snapped a few.

There was a lot of fun to be had playing in the teepees at the bison exhibit!

And we saw a kitty, but definitely not a kitty like our Gabby!

Ethan to the rescue

Dada took the boys to the playground this evening and while they were there Mason was playing with the toddler swings (instead of actually swinging in them). He pushed the swing forward and it came back and knocked him down. Ethan ran over to him and said "you alright Mason? you okay?" and patted him on the back a few times. His first attempts at forming sentences and it's to make sure his "big" brother wasn't hurt. I love it :)

Ethan will also start calling out "wee woo wee woo wee woo" in the car when he sees an ambulance.

Maybe he has a future as an EMT :)

Fridge Phonics

We have a stainless steel front fridge, which means no magnets :( But I found these round disks at Ikea that can be mounted on the wall and now we can use magnets in our play room and can hold up our fun new leapfrog toys (thank you 2B!).

We are serious about our letters and can now read lower case as well. And thanks to our trusty fridge phonics (and mommy and daddy sounding like idiots making the letter sounds), we now can say more than half of our letter sounds!

The first word that Ethan spelled on the magnetic word builder?... g.o.p.

Trying to voice his political opinions already?

Dirt...

...and leaves and mulch and grass...we like those too.
